The House of the Seven Gables in Massachusetts inspired the novel of the same name, which then inspired the creation of this house. It is an octagon house, with seven sides being gabled, and the eighth side extending into a rear wing. It’s near downtown, a block off U.S. 27. Worth detouring and taking a few minutes to check out if you’re ever driving through, on the way to or from Tallahassee. The house is included in “A Guide to Florida’s Historic Architecture”.
