The Blue Goose Packing Company-American Fruit Growers Association warehouse is in Avon Park, in the south central part of the state. It was built in 1926 by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad. It is the only remaining original citrus packing house in Highland County. It is still in use, but by a local lumber company. The building is included in “A Guide to Florida’s Historic Architecture”. Couple of weeks back I stayed away from home Saturday and Sunday. I partially re-enacted my Easter trip earlier this year. Managed to knock out 4 counties worth of NRHPs, Okeechobee, Glades, Hendry and Highlands. Also made more of a dent in Polk. The routes:
