The old Fessenden Academy is on the western outskirts of Ocala, in the north central part of the state. It opened in 1868 as an all-black school. Another first

Wow, got my first paycheck today! It was only for Tuesday, but it’s a start. That means I’ll get my first full paycheck next week. Did I mention that they pay you weekly?

I’m getting over a cold, which started yesterday, of course. Still, overall the week has gone pretty good. Saw a rainbow on the way to work yesterday. The guy who’s next to me has an Adipose doll on his desk, and another guy got my 42 reference, so I think I’ll fit in quite well.

Just got the call. They want me to start tomorrow. I said no.

Hey, you think I’m an idiot? I told them sure! So I’ll be getting into the grind sooner than I thought. Which is ultimately good. They want me to come in at 9 instead of 8, which is good for my first day. Now it’s getting back into going to bed at a reasonable hour again.

I are employed again!

Huzzah, huzzah! I just got the confirmation. Thanks to all who allowed me to use them as references; you’re on my brownie list. 🙂 I’ll be starting in a couple of weeks. Wish it was sooner, but it gives me time to get back in the swing of things. You know, going to bed at a reasonable time, getting up before noon. It’s only about 9 miles from me, and a straight drive down my old friend Baseline Road. Which makes it the closest I’ve ever worked to home, and the easiest drive to work I’ve ever had. It’s approximately in this area. It’s a telephone company, the work space is cubicular, and I believe I’ll be doing quality control like I did at EDS and WebMD. So here’s to starting off the New Year right. Thanks, Mom, since I know you talked to God for me. 🙂

And maybe visit some of you folks that are still in Florida, mayhaps? We shall see Later, dudes and dudettes and dudelings!
